Purtis Creek State Park Pedal Boat Docks

Today we delivered a new dock to Purtis Creek State Park in Eustace, Texas. This dock will be used to assist pedal boat riders as they get in and out of the boats. The low maintenance EZ Dock is one less maintenance headache for park rangers. The floating dock will self adjust as water levels fall (and hopefully rise).

Texas Drought

By now, we all know that it is hot, and Texas lakes are running out of water. With the EZ Dock floating dock system, your dock will be usable when fixed docks are not. EZ Dock can even sit down on the muddy or dry lake bottom without causing any damage to the dock sections. Texas sunshine is no problem for EZ Dock. The low density polyethylene contains the highest level UV inhibitor to keep the effects of the sun to a minimum. EZ Docks have been installed in Texas since 1996. These docks are still performing with no problems.

We have moved!!!

EZ Dock of Texas has moved. We have relocated to a larger facility just 5 blocks west of our old location. We are now at 3500 Raider Drive, Hurst, Texas. Our new location has quite a bit more room and is much better suited for our needs. Since we built this facility specifically for EZ Dock of Texas, we now have a much larger warehouse/showroom area with even more EZ Dock products in stock and on display. We also have plenty of space around the building and are stocking more EZ Dock products than ever before. Whatever you need, we will have it.

Hurricane Ike

Hurricane Ike has come and gone and we have all seen the images of the destruction left in it's wake.

The stories that we are hearing about EZ Dock are that the majority of the docks that were installed in the path of Ike fared very well. Most floated to the top of or over the top of their anchoring pipes. The docks that were tethered to something solid stayed put. The docks that were not tethered ended up other places, but intact. These have mostly been recovered and restored to their previous location. We had other docks that were in areas that were hammered by high winds and waves crashing 5' or more over the bulkhead. We suffered a few broken couplers and a couple of scuffed up pipe brackets, but again, the docks survived when wooden docks all around were disappearing into loose boards and scrap wood.

The more we learn, the more we are amazed by just how tough the EZ Dock System is.

NEW - EZ Port Max In-line Docking for PWC's

New for the 2008 Season, EZ Dock has introduced the EZ Port Max PWC Lift. This new product opens up the market for those customers that are needing to dock multiple watercraft using an in-line configuration. Our new roller design allows the watercraft to drive on and roll all the way to the front of the lift. A raised bulkhead section serves as a safety stop. Once the first watercraft is docked, the user inserts a removable, smaller bulkhead section behind the first docked watercraft. The second watercraft can now be docked safely without risking running into the watercraft ahead of it. Launching is now simply a matter of rolling off the PWC in the back, removing the bulkhead insert, and rolling the front watercraft off the rear of the lift.

If you have a limited amount of space, the double configuration measures only 5' wide x 24.5' in length. Need room for two watercraft inside of a 16 to 20' wide boat slip without having to get rid of your boat? No Problem. You can now have room for your boat AND two or more watercraft.

Texas Floods

After languishing in a two and a half year drought throughout the State, this year we found ourselves looking at record flood conditions. Many lakes in Texas were closed through Labor Day because the ramps and parks were all under water.

Lake Texoma rose to historically high levels and actually crested the dam for only the fourth time in history. The dock in the photo was installed a couple of years ago at the Thousand Trails RV Park and Campground. We knew at the time that we had to plan for the lake to come up 25+ feet. The only problem was that the lake could also drop over 11 feet. This meant that the dock would have to accomodate over 36' of variance in elevation.

This dock was installed using telescoping pipe. We sleeved a 20 section of pipe over the top of a 24' section of smaller pipe that had been driven into the lake bottom about 8'. The outer pipe had "ears" that the dock would grab on its way up as shown in the second photo. The gangway had a float installed midway that was intended to serve to lift the gangway off the dock once the lake came up past the landing area.

Today, the dock is back in place with no damage.

How about this for a nice new dock? We just completed getting the canopy top installed and can't wait to show what EZ Dock can do for someone that needs a large floating platform. This dock is about 36' x 85' and nearly the entire dock is under shade. The canopy top is the same product that is so often seen on car dealership lots around Texas. Many times we are asked how EZ Dock products hold up in the Texas sun. Yesterday, we had the opportunity to visit an installation that we did for the U.S. Navy at the Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base (NAS/JRB). This dock was installed in the fall of 2002. The installation consisted of 54 boat slips anchored with pipe anchors and heavy duty pipe brackets. The dock is actually administered by the Morale, Welfare, & Recreation(MWR) department of the military for recreational use by both active duty and retired military personnel. Marina slips are rented on a monthly or annual basis. Even though there were not boats in every slip, they tell us that on weekends, all slips are full.

After a thorough examination of the dock, we found absolutely no sign of any wear in the materials at all. All deck surfaces felt strong and showed no sign of any impact of UV or the Texas heat. Other than a little dirt and a few "souvenirs" left by some resident seagulls, the dock looks great!

New Dock on Eagle Mountain Lake - Fort Worth

EZ Dock of Texas recently completed the dock portion of one of the largest residential docks that we have installed to date. This dock was added to existing fixed docks so that the lake can still be enjoyed even when water levels drop as they did over the past three years. This dock has five EZ Port PWC Lifts, two boat slips, and plenty of deck area. We cannot wait until the next Google Earth update pass so that we can see this one from above.

Within the next few weeks, we will be adding a canopy top over the entire dock. Stay tuned for more photos to come.

Hutto, Texas has a new EZ Dock

One more new EZ Dock in the Texas Hill Country. Just a few miles (literally) from Dell Computers and just a few hundred yards from the new toll road. This dock is a unique design that the ranch owner came up with. It has a nice sized platform area for just sitting and looking at the water or fishing in this well established farm pond. It also has a couple of places to park some small boats and a kayak.

An 80" wide center walkway and five of the 80" x 10' dock sections on the platform make this dock very stable. The dead weight anchoring system keeps the dock in place but also will allow the dock to rise and fall with the unpredictable Central Texas rainfall.

New EZ Dock on Lake Mathis

Last week, we installed a new floating dock on Lake Mathis between San Antonio and Corpus Christi. This dock is across the lake from the scout camp. Here is a photo of the dock. It really turned out nice and the customer was quite pleased with the result. This dock incorporated our dock sections and our EZ Port 3 Drive-on PWC lift. Stay tuned for photos of one of our largest residential dock installations to date. Pilings are being driven today and we still will be adding a very large, 8-post canopy structure over much of the dock. It is located in the Fort Worth area on Eagle Mountain Lake. It incorporates dock sections for deck areas, EZ Ports for personal watercraft, and two boat slips with air-up boat lifts. More to come later!

EZ Dock is a great product! For the past eight years, we have been having an incredible time putting in docks for ranches, city parks, youth camps, government entities, homeowners, personal watercraft owners, boating enthusiasts, and just about anyone else you might find near the water.

We have been able to meet some of the nicest Texans you will ever come across. We have seen some beautiful places where folks just want a way to get out and enjoy the water. Whether you want to fish, boat, swim, or just stare at a beautiful Texas sunset, you will find that sitting on a floating EZ Dock just makes the experience that much more enjoyable.

We will also provide you with a detailed price quote for all of the materials and delivery/installation if you plan on us doing the installation. If you decide you would prefer to install the dock yourself, we will spend time with you showing you a few of the "secrets" to get your dock installed with minimal frustration. We keep a very extensive inventory of all of the EZ Dock products, so delivery is normally right away. Most customers have their new dock within a few days of making the decision to go with EZ Dock.
